Some rental car companies did that with the speed monitoring and ticketed people who went over the speed limit when they returned the cars. People took it to court to fight that system I read it on some site plus my Automotive instructor told me about it first.

At least in America, it won't be your fault - in America, if you're hit from the rear, no matter what it's the person who hit you's fault. I like the concept, just hopefully they develop it well enough and properly. So much technology today is just so under-developed and flawed (*cough*vista)

They already limit the speed on cars in Japan. Most japanese sports cars can easily surpass 240kph, but ALL japanese cars are factory limited to 180kph via a computer chip.
However, you can of couse illegally remove the speed limiter chip ;P

What about them? Its not saying the driver can fall asleep and forget about driving. Its helps out the driver when they cant react in time. After all, how many people do you know that planned to get in accidents?
